Our Model: Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

At Voices of Hope Foundation (VOHF), we use the globally endorsed Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model—recommended by WHO, UNESCO, and ILO—as our core approach under the JuZa flagship. This evidence-based model addresses five key areas: Health, Education, Livelihood, Social Inclusion, and Empowerment. It enables us to dismantle systemic barriers by promoting early disability screening, inclusive education, economic opportunities for caregivers, anti-stigma efforts, and youth-led advocacy, driving sustainable, community-led change for children and youth with disabilities across Zanzibar.

Strategic Focus Areas

Advocacy and Policy Influence

Build awareness and influence policies to advance SRHR, GBV, VAC, and PWD inclusion.

Access to Quality Education

Improve access to inclusive education for marginalized children and youth.

Healthcare Accessibility and SRHR Services

Enhance access to quality healthcare SRHR services.

Economic Empowerment and Social Enterprises

Reduce economic vulnerabilities of marginalized populations.

Strengthening Social Protection Systems

Enhance support systems for GBV survivors, children, and PWDs

Gender Equality, Climate resilience and Digital Innovation

Integrate gender-sensitive approaches in all interventions, promote eco-friendly practices in community programs, and leverage technology for training, data collection, and service delivery.
